Rawr

Hello guys,

I'm sad to announce you that Rawr is gone... https://archive.codeplex.com/?p=rawr

CodePlex has shut down and everything in it is lost - https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/bharry/2017/03/31/shutting-down-codeplex/

The provided archive for download has nothing working on 3.3.5 so I'm asking - does anyone has some leftovers?

I need both the application and the addon. I can't believe I once had it and then lost it on my previous PC.

Edit: The AddOn's name turned out to be Pawn actually. Link: https://github.com/Road-block/Pawn

I've used version 2.3.22 before but I had many issues with itm mostly with loading items. Some classes just wouldn't load at all, others I had to leave for literally hours while the program freezed and then it kinda worked. On one class I think paladin or warrior, the charts that show item ratings only included Survivability and not DPS (in dps spec config) which was totally useless. Have you encoundered these issues?

Here's the version I have: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7dKFpbd_JHZVlYwVHZ3bGY4eEk

Also in the link @kaniskof posted, why is a zip file an .exe? Seems sketchy. There's a direct link to download from github later in the german thread.

The issue you're talking about is general, yes. Back then I used it to export priest characters for SimCraft and it was taking ages to load. And for some classes it's very inacurate, Paladin is one of them - probably the worst. It's designed specificaly for druids which I'm playing right now and I know I can trust it.

You can get wotlk version with itemcache db (so it doesn't lag) from my site - http://addons.us.to/addon/rawr

I use it for same reason - to make profiles for simcraft :) (you need modified simcraft, because default one tries to load itemstats from retail resource where they are already squashed).

@zerfx, you're absolute beast! I don't know how to thank you... All this is soooo awesome! Everything is working so right and smooth. These uploads are precious as diamonds!

P.S. - I've messed up the first post by talking about Rawr "AddOn"... It's OK not to be found anywhere because there is no such addon... What I've meant was Pawn which is far more easy to be found but I've memorized the name wrong. For those who don't know, Pawn let you type coeficients (weight) of your stats and compares every item like GearScore does. It's easy and fast to see which item is better for you without doing long math or checking lists on Alt+Tab. For new/casual players with no theorycrafting knowledge it has build in coeficients which are decently close to the real ones. It's really useful addon. Regarding my mistake above, I think you do the same and you mean Pawn, not Rawr, right? "Rawr in game" is not something I've heard of. Pawn on the other hand has decent starting coeficient and if you want to make them more correct, you should add them manually.

Nah, I meant a player in the game, that uses Rawr.

It's cool though. It somehow fixed itself. Rawr's great for calculating possible dps gain from loot.

Very nice, but one thing I didn't notice at first is that the values for hit and expertise is not the value of gaining more, but what you lose by dropping points.

So anyone importing to Pawn might want to keep that in mind.

When it comes to hit or expertise i preffer to set them on 0 in Pawn and calculate the item myself. Generally they have the biggest value when no capped but giving them the correct coeficients means that Pawn will change gems as well. The total data is very misleading.

Hey, thanks for uploading these. Im trying to use your stuff here, but after I generate a profile from rawr, import it and run the sim it produces the error: Unexpected parameter '<?xml'. Expected format: name=value

Think you might be able to shed some light on this?

Thanks!

Hateful gear seems to be missing. Any way to add it? Hateful Gladiator's Cloak of Ascendancy is a great pre-raid cloak

Hello! I've managed to create a character in Rawr equal to mine online and just simulated it. I don't get the stat weights tho, that's is basically the only thing I'm after.
